We Agnostics (Continue)
J: If you're an agnostic, you already believe. If you're an atheist, you have to become willing to believe. That's the story. (p. 47, par. 2) "Do I now believe, or am I even willing to believe, that there is a Power greater than myself?"
That's all we've got to do, is to believe. (p. 47, par. 2) 'As soon as a man can say that he does believe, or is willing to believe, we emphatically assure him that he is on his way. It has been repeatedly proven among us that upon this simple cornerstone a wonderfully effective spiritual structure can be built..'
Here we see Bill going and painting his pictures. Remember, he said willingness was the foundation of what we're going to do. (p. 12, par. 5) On this foundation of willingness, we're going to put a cornerstone. We're building a spiritual structure. Now, the cornerstone is believing. (p. 47, par. 2) Believing is the cornerstone of anything that we do. Getting up out of the chair you're setting in begins when you believe you can get up.
Anything you do is initiated with believing. This is the limitation, or the success or failure of our lives. What we believe, we're going to become. So this is the beginning. If we're not willing to believe, we can't begin. If we're atheist, we can't begin. But if we can get to the point of believing, then we're on our way. This is all we have to do. We don't have to have faith in this program.
